Troubleshoot “Signatures” button not responding in Outlook

During reinstalling or updating various versions of Office not everything is properly replaced. One of those are registry entries that affect “Signatures” button making it unable to work in Outlook, when You’d like to edit or add new signatures. Here’s how to solve this issue.

  1. Close Outlook,
  2. Copy the following path:
    32-bit version:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\Outlook.exe if you use Outlook 2010 or
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\Outlook.exe for Outlook 2013.
    64-bit version:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Outlook.exe if you use Outlook 2010 or
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Outlook.exe for Outlook 2013.
  3. Click “Start”, type in: “regedit”, open it.
  4. You have to edit the following entries:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
To edit those, right click it, then click “Modify”, paste the path You copied earlier in place of what is in this entry, click OK and exit the Registry Editor by closing it.
  5. Now, open Your Outlook and try to edit Your signatures as the “Signatures” button will work now.
